Brief History:
There are varying opinions as to the origin of Valentine's Day. Some experts state that it originated from St. Valentine, a Roman who was martyred for refusing to give up Christianity. He died on February 14, 269 A.D., the same day that had been devoted to love lotteries. Legend also says that St. Valentine left a farewell note for the jailer's daughter, who had become his friend, and signed it "From Your Valentine". Other aspects of the story say that Saint Valentine served as a priest at the temple during the reign of Emperor Claudius. Claudius then had Valentine jailed for defying him. In 496 A.D. Pope Gelasius set aside February 14 to honour St. Valentine.
Gradually, February 14 became the date for exchanging love messages and St. Valentine became the patron saint of lovers. The date was marked by sending poems and simple gifts such as flowers. There was often a social gathering or a ball.
Craze in Pakistan:
Pakistan is an Islamic country, Wich came into being on 14th august 1947. The main Moto for having this gr8 nation was basicly that the Muslims of IndoPak can lead there lifes according to the TEACHINGS OF ISLAM. But indeed Irony of Fate , we have almost ruined the expections of our ancestors , that one day there youngones will make this nation to ONE of the greatest nations of the World following the Teaching of Quran, and Ahadees. We being muslins inspite of offering Prayers and Reciting Holly Quran, Waste our time and Money on events like Valentines day... Soo called day of expressing love... It shows a cheap mentality , the expression of Love is boud to expressed in a single day, bt every day we can share our feeling and love to our beloveds....
So i want the comments of My brothers that
- Why we celebrate this day with more enthusiam than Celebrating Eid.. ??
- Why we Spend billions of Money on such a day which has nothing to do whith our culture and traditions... ???
- How can we demotivate our younger generation from Wasting there time on such sort of Foolish Festivals of Wetern Culture....????

we as a Muslim should not celebrate these events. because these have nothing to do with our culture and religion.

ReplyDeletenow a days we all are celebrating this 14 feb as a day full of love, we know that to celebrate our love is not a mistake but wrong thing is that we have specify the day only and all the people goes mad on that one day to let people know about their love,we can celebrate this everyday but we not should do this all only one day
